Toronto Fringe Adventures
Toronto's 2016 Fringe Festival officially closed yesterday! I am so happy to say that I was able to see six spectacular shows; last week I saw "Crux" and "The Fence", this week "Life After", "Echoes", "Dance Animal" (which was a hoot!) and "Into". Each show I saw was so delightful different but they all had so passion and talent onstage. The ensemble work was strong in each production. In particular, "Echoes" stood out to me because of the score and the staging. The songs are reminiscent of "Miss Saigon" with their haunting themes and the subject matter is still (sadly) relevant. The staging was simple and effective. I would love to see where this show goes next! The last show I saw was "Into" and it was a wonderful way to end my Fringe experience. Such a fun, kooky show that, despite all the giggles, left the audience pondering the big questions. The characters were so wonderful and I was laughing hysterically at many points throughout. My first summer in Toronto is allowing me to really see and become a part of the theatre community and for that I am sincerely grateful. I witnessed artists doing what they love. Here's to more adventures!
