Jacqueline Janas (she/her), BMT. CAEA & ACTRA
Jackie is a performer, choreographer, director, and educator currently residing in Toronto. She holds a Bachelor in Music Theatre Performance (BMT) from Sheridan College and is a member of ACTRA and CAEA. Jackie is a triple threat, and has been teaching in group and individual settings for over 10 years in all three disciplines: dancing, singing, and acting. Over the last 6 years, she has been honoured to witness the incredible onstage talent in Canada and has adjudicated internationally for Bedazzled, Summerdanse, Shooting Star and Kiwanis festivals to name a few.
Jackie began dancing ballet at the age of 3, and has studied RAD and Vaganova syllabus. She later branched out and studied jazz, modern, lyrical, pointe, tap and hip hop through PAEC syllabi, but ballet and pointe hold a special place in her heart! Jackie toured with Canada’s Jorgen Dance for two seasons of The Nutcracker. She also trained in Havana and performed with the National Ballet of Cuba’s productions of The Nutcracker, Hansel & Gretel and Swan Lake. She has filmed several commercials, TV episodes, and short films. One of her favourite onscreen credits is the short film For Clara (a role that required her to dance en pointe). She has performed professionally across Ontario and out east in Charlottetown, PEI. Jackie is honoured to teach students dance across the GTA through QBC, as well as workshops at RMHC Toronto through Suitcase Theatre. She is constantly inspired by the next generation.
When not onstage or in front of the camera, Jackie enjoys reading, gardening, watching MCU content and Survivor. She will also never say no to a latte. She loves swimming and enjoys hikes. At home, she enjoys playing with her two rescued cats, Duchess and Katara and puppy, Count Dooku, or Duke for short.
